everything I open windows live messenger it creates a contacts folder on the desktop, which is empty

It sounds like there might be a setting or feature within Windows Live Messenger that is causing this behavior. To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:

1. Reset Windows Live Messenger Settings:
- Open Windows Live Messenger.
- Go to the "Tools" menu or the options/settings within the messenger.
- Look for an option to reset or restore default settings.
- This may vary slightly depending on the version of Windows Live Messenger you are using.

2. Check Automatic File Saving Options:
- Sometimes messenger applications have settings that automatically save files or create folders on the desktop.
- Look through the settings in Windows Live Messenger to see if there is an option related to file saving or desktop folders.

3. Reinstall Windows Live Messenger:
- If the issue persists, consider uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Live Messenger to see if that resolves the problem.
- Make sure you download and install the latest version of Windows Live Messenger compatible with your operating system.

4. Check Messenger Add-ons or Plugins:
- If you have any add-ons or plugins installed for Windows Live Messenger, disable them temporarily to see if one of them is causing the issue.

5. Update or Upgrade:
- Ensure that you are using the latest version of Windows Live Messenger or consider switching to a more recent messaging application, as Windows Live Messenger has been replaced by newer communication tools.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it might be helpful to check online forums or support resources specific to Windows Live Messenger for more targeted advice.
