So, this happened only recently, but all of a sudden, I can't play any of my video files that I was able to play in wmp just a few days ago.

All of a sudden, whenever I try to open a video file, i just get an error that says:

    INTERFACE NOT REGISTERED.

When I place these files into windows live movie maker, they play fine and i can even edit them.

As for windows media player, the only video I can play is the sample HD video with the animals.

Would appreciate if anybody could help me with this problem and has a solution for this 'interface not registered' video error.

    Thank you s omuch.

Try running these two commands from the command prompt:

    regsvr32 msxml3.dll
    regsvr32 msxml6.dll

i ran the msxml3.dll and it said the module failed to load.

I just type those into CMD and hit enter correct?

i typed them one after the other and it says...

DllRegister Server in msxml3.dll succeeded...but that the module "regsvr32" failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems wit the binary or dependent .DLL files.

all videos are still popping up as 'interface not registered'

Did you hit enter after writing each one? Try running the file checker. Right click on command prompt and click run as admin'. Then type:

    sfc /scannow

The hit enter. This will then start the file checker and it'll fix any problems it finds..

    You could also try this:

    start menu

    open 'run'
    type in:

    regsvr32.exe wmp.dll

    click ok..
