Windows 7 Yet another win7 start up freeze and random reboot

this used to happen on my old machine, but it's happening on a brand new system with new hardware, except hard drive. It'll go through the motions of starting then the 4 colored balls will come up and then freeze, takes a couple reboots to get windows to fully start up. I've updated the drivers for my video card to win7 drivers (Nvidia 9400 GT) and freezes and restarts persist. Any help you can give would be invaluable. If you need any info please ask, with steps to get info please..

Did you look in Device Manager and see if there are any yellow flags? USB devices can be troublesome. Is this dual boot system by chance?

Also you might check here ASUSTeK Computer Inc. I noticed a bios upgrade for your motherboard dated October 10th 2009, not sure if it would help, just another thought.

There are no yellow flags in device manager. I'll try the bios upgrade...thx.
