Employees of the Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation are receiving hands-on training in prompt engineering, ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot through a three-day programme at Graphic Era Deemed University in Dehradun. According to Garhwal Post, the Employee Development Programme, titled “Prompt Engineering, AI Tools and Their Applications,” began July 28 and also covers cybersecurity and AI-assisted office workflows. The effort is jointly organized by the Schools of Management at Graphic Era Deemed University and Graphic Era Hill University.
The practical focus matters: this is not a research deployment of AI in forestry, but workforce training aimed at using mainstream generative-AI services more effectively in administrative work. Participants are being taught that better output depends on clear instructions, appropriate context and, critically, human fact-checking.

Graphic Era Vice Chancellor Dr. Narpinder Singh described AI as a supporting tool rather than a replacement for employees, while emphasizing the need to verify generated material before it is used. That is a notably sensible baseline for public-sector workflows, where an apparently polished answer can still contain fabricated facts, out-of-date information or inappropriate handling of sensitive material.
The training puts Microsoft Copilot alongside OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google Gemini, reflecting the reality facing organizations that increasingly encounter multiple AI assistants rather than a single approved platform. For IT teams, that makes governance more important than tool familiarity alone.

The Enterprise Lesson Is Guardrails, Not Just Better Prompts​

Prompt engineering can improve how staff draft summaries, structure documents, analyze routine material and prepare internal communications. But it does not remove the operational questions that follow employees back to their desks: which accounts are permitted, what data may be submitted, how outputs are reviewed, and whether AI-generated content is retained in official records.
Graphic Era has been expanding its AI training profile; the university previously hosted generative-AI instruction for faculty and has invested in an AI and high-performance computing center. The Forest Development Corporation programme extends that capacity into a government-linked workforce setting.
For Windows administrators and Microsoft 365 teams, the useful takeaway is straightforward: Copilot training should pair prompt skills with data-classification rules, tenant controls, auditability and a clear escalation path for questionable output. The most valuable result of a three-day AI course will not be faster text generation—it will be employees who know when not to trust it.
