It has been a while since I last done this, but you should be able to find the AVG protocol under the Properties of your network connection. If you use a wireless network connection, make sure that you remove this protocol from your LAN (wired network connection).
To get to the properties of your network connection, follow the following steps (Windows Vista/7) -

To get to the properties of your network connection, follow the following steps (Windows Vista/7) -
- Navigate to "Control Panel" (should be able to find this from your Start menu).
- In "Category" view, click on "Network and Internet". In "Icon" view, click on "Network and Sharing Center".
- From the left navigation pane, click on "Change adapter settings".
- Right-click on your LAN/WLAN network connection, e.g. Wireless Network Connection or Local Area Connection. From the produced menu, click on "Properties".
- On the "Networking" tab of the "Properties" dialog box, scroll down the list box under "This connection uses the following items:", where you should find the protocol for AVG. When you have located this protocol, select it and then click on the "Uninstall" button.
- When prompted if you are sure you want to uninstall the selected protocol, click on the "Yes" button.
