A friend's Windows 7 64 bit computer is not updating Windows and I get this message error 80070002. I have tried the "readiness tool". Start and stopped the Windows update services and run the "fix it" tool. Also, the "automatic troubleshooter". And KB 947821 info.

Also ran Malewarebytes and came up with nothing.

Any other suggestions?

Make sure first that you have a legitimate product key and then obtain the proper installation media from here
If you have SP1 installed on your Windows 7 Machine

If you don't have SP1 installed on your Windows 7 Machine

I've had to do this a few times lately.... same deal helping friends.
You'll have tons of updates after the repair, but at least you'll be able to get them.
This procedure is generally non-destructive, so your programs, drivers, etc., should remain intact and without issue. However:
Nothing is 100% foolproof, especially to a determined and dedicated fool, so make sure you back up all critical...

Started with downloading the ISO for Win7 Premium 64 bit and got this:
"The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found."

It would seem that all the downloads that formerly linked to Digital River have now been diverted to here Link Removed
Just put in a product key, pick your language and proceed, I guess.
