Are you using Microsfot Office? If not, which freeware are you using to replace MS Office?

I voted for Kingsoft Office but don't use it as a replacement for MS Office. I use MS Office on my Windows machines but use Kingsoft Office on my Android phone and tablet since MS Office doesn't run on Android devices.

I use Office 2003 still. I binned Windows 8 as failed OS. I may get the next version when it has been running for a few years. Took me 3 years to use Win7, and they never de-bugged that with its silly filing system. This new app on my kindle is the same. May work after a while, but its currently a pain to use with no mouse or keyboard and unfinbable arrow leys

Open Office is a nice choice for College Students and those on a severly restricted financial situation--it's from Corel, and those guys have been around almost as long as WordPerfect who originally helped develop the suite of products to compete with MS Office but they didn't have the huge Marketing Clout that M$ had and lost the battle selling out to Corel years back. I rediscovered it's use when I was teaching College Computer classes back in 2006. For most non-business, non-critical home use it's not bad. I'm was a Corporate IT guy for 20 years plus, so I have developed the bad habit of always using MS Office suite as a business necessity and have actually grown to develop a fondness for the 13 different products in the suite. Plus I've made some good coin teaching Office Classes for the last 8 years!

I don't believe OpenOffice is developed by Corel, especially since Corel is still selling a Corel Office suite.

Nonetheless, OpenOffice is a good choice.

Yeah openOffice is developed by apache.

Me personally I use libreoffice, its gotten pretty good at .docx support.
