update, i was able to get win7 x64 installed by plugging in an hdtv instead of my 20' flat panel. although, even though it boots, i try to run a system rating test, but it gets about 60% through and the display either freezes or tiles.

another thing with the 8400 quad, it doesn't support virtualization. make sure that is off. i have the ud3l and the 8400 and i found that was my problem. for some reason, virtualization tech. is on by default on the ud3l.
