    Hi, Since I did a windows 10 upgrade, my Lenovo desktop is very slow/reluctant to load Thunderbird and Chrome programs from the task bar. I've deleted cookies, etc, it makes no difference. I have to click Thunderbird at least twice, before it registers, (but then sometimes opens 2 instances)...

    Can anyone suggest an alternative desktop based email program that will stop me having to enter into Office 365 or upgrade to Windows 8 or 10? I am quite happy with Windows 7, I don't use Windows "productivity applications", and I just want to be able to access my @outlook emails on my computer...

    Thanks, but all I needed to do was OPEN MY EYES! On the screensaver settings I looked too far for the box to uncheck "On resume, display logon screen." Finally found it and all is good. Thanks people.

    Thanks holdum333, at least I knew what to expect! So restore is done, thanks very much kemical, all is ok again, and I now know how to set up restore points the same way. now to tackle the original issue that got me in this mess! Thanks people!

    yep, they all need admin privileges.

    thanks for that. I cannot do Open System Restore, it needs Admin privileges. I'll try the f2 option next. That might be a job for tomorrow when I'm more alert. Thanks heaps for your time, I'll be back on here to confirm what happens when it happens. Cheers mate!
