Windows 7 Fix for "Unidentified Network" / No Internet Access

Hi Rick - Wow - I never thought that my simple fix for the RC version of Win 7 would get so much traction, but I'm really happy that it was able to help so many people! - I'm intrigued by your issue, as the solution that I posted was for very early adopters of Win 7...I've done countless...

Windows 7 Fix for "Unidentified Network" / No Internet Access

You really need to watch your drivers closely...new drivers FROM THE MANUFACTURER are the way to go...Marvell, for example just released a huge update that includes a tuning utility...good step in the right direction...If you don't have Bonjour running, and are still seeing "Unidentified...

Windows 7 Limited connectivity - Unidentified network

simply click on the start logo and type services in the search box...this will display the services in the results with the gears icon. once there, sort the list by running services and look for the Bonjour service - or the string ID if applicable (as I described above) I later found the...

    Windows 7 Linksys Wireless WRT54G

Try NOT using IE 8...use firefox and retry. I've heard of some IE8 "Compatability Mode" settings that have prevented access to others' routers. ...worth a shot if all else looks good with your LAN and IP settings

    Windows 7 Remote Desktop Problem

Not yet...I will test it for you tho.. Is this happening when you RDP into the Win7 machine, or to an XP/Vista PC from the Win7 PC?...are you using build 7100? - I found that I had much better luck using 7127, but haven't tested your specific issue. On the RDP PC, are you logging off? or...

    Windows 7 Same old problem

This is almost certainly a driver issue...are you using 64 or 32 bit? also, post your mfg/driver version/date of the one you are using now... On my x64 install, I ended up using the Vista x64 version of the driver, downloaded directly from the mfg instead of the built-in one from MS. works...

Windows 7 Cannot log into routers web interface using windows 7

~ IE8 you say? try using Firefox to access it and see if you have the same issues...I think you're onto something with the compatibility settings, although you may also need to set that IP up as a trusted site.

Windows 7 Fix for "Unidentified Network" / No Internet Access

I decided to just post this as a new thread, as it appears to be getting positive results for most people. I highly recommend it anyway, as you will eventually encounter this if you apply all of your updates... For those of you reporting problems with your network after updating MS Office or...

    Windows 7 Networking/Internet

Check to see if you have this little devil in your services list: "##Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B87 9762 ##" If you do, stop it and disable it. It is actually the Bonjour DNS Responder Service, and I believe it is the cause of the "Unidentified Network." The Unidentified...

Windows 7 Cannot log into routers web interface using windows 7

Are you sure you are trying to connect to the router's LAN interface? The log indicates that you are timing out accessing the ISP's gateway, but you should be hitting your local gateway to program....something more like 192.168.1.1...

Windows 7 Incomplete broadband connection disconnection ?

Just a shot, but I think we all ran into the "Unidentified Network" issue on here...see if this applies to you first, before pulling your hair out...I highly recommend this fix, as it has solved a lot of issues... First, see if you have 2 networks...one local and one "unidentified." If you do...

Windows 7 Limited connectivity - Unidentified network

Mine shows as the "##...ID String##" very strange... basically, if you open the properties for your running services, you will see "DNS Responder" in the "path to executable" line... you could also uninstall the Bonjour service, but I found it easily fixed by disabling it. (I'm not sure if it...
