Windows 7 BSoD: 0x0000001E upon upgrading from IDE to SATA DVD-RW drive

Thanks, Elmer, that did the trick. I did some sleuthing and downloaded the MicrosoftFixit.dvd.Run.exe from Microsoft's website and it found my drives had a class driver problem and normal driver problem and fixed both of them. They're now appearing normally, so I'm going to reboot and see if...

Windows 7 BSoD: 0x0000001E upon upgrading from IDE to SATA DVD-RW drive

The internet access issue appears to be fixed; I'm going to guess it was because I ran the uninstaller for my wireless USB adapter (which was actually NETGEAR, I haven't installed any D-Link software). I had been manually deleting some .sys files because, for example, the BioStar file was...

Windows 7 BSoD: 0x0000001E upon upgrading from IDE to SATA DVD-RW drive

All the driver fixing was negated the first time because I had to do a System Restore in order to access the internet again. This time around, I once again can't access the internet. Could it possibly be because I deleted jswpslwfx.sys, even though that file is for a wireless adapter(and I'm...

Windows 7 BSoD: 0x0000001E upon upgrading from IDE to SATA DVD-RW drive

Perhaps I spoke too soon... attached is a dump file for a BSoD I just experienced. It may be completely unrelated.

Windows 7 BSoD: 0x0000001E upon upgrading from IDE to SATA DVD-RW drive

I set it back to Auto and now CPU-Z is showing timings of 9-9-9-24. However, the first two SPD screens still show 667MHz and the second two still show 800MHz. I'm not getting BSODs anymore (haven't been for a while).

Windows 7 BSoD: 0x0000001E upon upgrading from IDE to SATA DVD-RW drive

Hi Randy, I don't use AMD Overdrive or Easy Tune, but I did manually set the speed to 800MHz in the BIOS at one point since the default was set to 667MHz (1333), even though it is advertised and labeled as 800MHz (1600) when I purchased it. Apparently it only set one pair (I have two pair of...

Windows 7 BSoD: 0x0000001E upon upgrading from IDE to SATA DVD-RW drive

Thanks for the help so far, Elmer. I coincidentally plugged the drive back in and so far haven't had any blue screens yet, but I've done all the updating and/or removal you suggested in your post. Attached now are the all the requested CPU-Z tabs.

Windows 7 BSoD: 0x0000001E upon upgrading from IDE to SATA DVD-RW drive

Hi all. I recently installed a new SATA Sony Optiarc DVD-RW drive (Model AD-7280S-0B) to replace an older IDE drive, and since its install I have experienced two BSoDs within 10 minutes of booting with the same STOP error both times; 0x0000001E. Attached the the two .DMP files that were created...
