correct me if i didnt understand the last part of your answer correctly; so if install microsoft word on vista and win7 then i will have to install it twice no matter what in order to run it on both OSes?

just a quick clarification; as long as i dont install an OS on a partition (say i keep it for data -pics etc) then i can access it from ANY OS thats installed on other partitions? and what about programs that compatible with multiple OSes, with the ones that are compatible with them be able...

my old laptop that i installed win7 on doesnt support aero (that or im just blind and cant find the buttons to press) and i cant get it to change colors either, just that light blue theme, which in my opinion is quite an eyesore..

I was thinking about installing win7 on my desktop, however i only have one internal hard drive (and one external). Backup is not a problem, however i was thinking about just buying a 250 or 320 gig internal and using that to install win7 (that way i could keep my vista partition completely...
