Windows 10 Toshiba Satellite: ethernet-lan connectivity disappearance

Hi Mike, Usb plugin camera works. I think I'll resort to that now. It's cumbersome and not really convenient for carrying the laptop but it's better than spending a lot on repairs. Thanks again for your help. Stephen

Windows 10 Toshiba Satellite: ethernet-lan connectivity disappearance

Hi Mike, Thank you for your reply. I was away for the last 10 days so I didn't have time to implement the above. But now I've managed ultimately to free space on the hd. The webcam issue remains, unfortunately. The webcam is located under "cameras" and "disable device" or "uninstall device"...

Windows 10 Toshiba Satellite: ethernet-lan connectivity disappearance

Kemical, I did install the driver and it's working! Thanks a lot :thumbs_up::thumbs_up:. Now back to trying to get the webcam working again. But there are no drivers for that on the Toshiba website so same solution won't apply. Just out of curiosity, would you know why I have got...

Windows 10 Toshiba Satellite: ethernet-lan connectivity disappearance

Hi Kemical, Seems like something obvious, but I didn't. I'll do that and keep you updated!

Windows 10 Toshiba Satellite: ethernet-lan connectivity disappearance

Hi guys, Some of you may have seen my other posts before. Indeed it's another issue to add to the long series of problems I've got with my Toshiba Satellite P50-C. It was my first expensive laptop, the fastest I ever got (16go ram) but it's now not really usable. So in short, it was bought...

Windows 10 Disfunctional webcam - Toshiba Satellite

Hi guys, Thanks for your reply. Out of desperation, I did a factory reset on the computer with a fresh Windows install. Well let's say it didn't turn well, as I have got now more problems than before. Webcam is still not working, and lan-ethernet connection is inoperative which is tricky...

Windows 10 Disfunctional webcam - Toshiba Satellite

Hi Jerry, That's the laptop's webcam and I cannot uninstall it apparently. Even on the Toshiba website, there is no driver for this webcam. Wondering if a clean Windows install could be useful as well? Will try to rollback the Skype and Windows updates that were made at the same time.

Windows 10 Disfunctional webcam - Toshiba Satellite

Hi guys, A week ago my 3yo Toshiba Satellite's webcam stopped working. It's been coincident with a Windows and Skype updates which I often use with the webcam. I have tried the Windows Troubleshooting option, and also going into the Device Manager to uninstall the device, reboot and reinstall...

Windows 10 BSOD with wireless USB adapter

Yes I did that, but it yielded no results. My dear old friend the BSOD immediately appeared with the TPLink dongle. We shall probably never get to the bottom of the problem event though I am quite sure it could stems from these multiple driver folders.

Windows 10 BSOD with wireless USB adapter

Looking at that full driver update history I see that 4 since the 17/01/18 for the Realtek network adapter. No wonder there are so many different folders with the rtwlanu.sys file! Wondering how I could cancel all of that; deleting the folders in the registry maybe? And then perform the...

Windows 10 BSOD with wireless USB adapter

Yeah, I know, curiosity, I'd like to know why it's doing that but if it's working with another dongle, let's not bother too much! Really as I already said no windows updates or software / hardware changes before the BSOD for 5 days. I just see that the drivers for the Realtek device were updated...

Windows 10 BSOD with wireless USB adapter

Well that works with a 5 yo Ralink wifi dongle! We'll probably never get to understand what's wrong with these TPLink dongles. I really tried with my old one and a brand new one, so it was unlikely that they were both faulty. That will stay a mystery for sure. Big thumbs up to both of you guys...

Windows 10 BSOD with wireless USB adapter

The laptop was natively with Windows 10 when I bought it, and in the updates list I don't see any recent ones, just prior the first BSOD. I'll go and buy a wifi dongle from a different manufacturer and see what happens.

Windows 10 BSOD with wireless USB adapter

I never reinstalled Windows 10. I'd rather try all the other options before doing that! Checking in the device manager, USB drivers are up-to-date.
