I have a Dell with a X-FI Extreme Gamer and when I run these drivers, I am unable to use any of the applications. It says I don't have a compatable sound card. Drivers install ok and sound works. Is this normal or are the apps, like the control panel supposed to work to??

Hmm interesting enough mine is only a 2.9. This is on a Dual Core 3.16 w/4g RAM running Win7 64bit. Graphics card is a Gforce 8800 GT x 2 (SLI). Whats ironic is my iMac which has a slower processor and only 2g RAM gets a 5.0. Go figure.

Is the Realtek a onboard sound card? Disable this in the Bios, then boot and see if it finds the PCI Card. Maybe there is a conflct between the 2 cards.

Anyone get this to work with a X-Fi ExtremeGamer? Audio works fine but when I run any of the applications I get the "the audio device with this application is not supported" error :(

Alchemy does not seem to see the sound card drivers so it won't install. So much for EAX while gaming.

Testing out some games, I remembered that Vista (and I assume Win7) won't enable EAX. So, the workaround was to use Creative Alchemy. When I run it, it says the audio device is not detected. I initially did this with the default Win 7 audio drivers then tried the latest Vista drivers for the...
