I tried this as well, but the BSOD did not go away. The restore point in question was prior to the latest set of installed updates. Currently, there are no restore points available to use, it disappeared after I tried to restore to it.

Thanks for the reply. I have not made any changes to the fonts that I am aware of, all I have done is remove all the previous nights updates after a BSOD. this used to solve the problem and I'd be able to reboot. But as I said, this time it's somehow resulted in the missing text and non working...
