Hi I am running Windows 7 on an average machine, and it runs great. The only time it gets slow is when it's loading the login screen. Is there a more basic login screen like XP had where you type the username in instead?

i had that problem. leave it for a day or two then try again. restart a few times, ven if you don't usually shut down your computer. it now works for me!

firewall problems windows 7 doesn't like external firewalls. firewalls can act randomly, even in ways you never know. i would suggest trying to use windows firewall instead and trying again. either way, the best browser is firefox, so you could try just using that!

Try this - usually works try uninstalling your ethernet device and re-installing it. gets around a screw-up still there from earlier versions of windows microsoft never fixed.
