A gold-accented handheld gaming console, hard case, and sunglasses are displayed in a dramatic, dark showroom.
ASUS ROG Malaysia has opened pre-orders for the ROG Xbox Ally X20 anniversary bundle. It costs RM10,999, and only 30 units are allocated nationwide. This is a Windows 11 handheld PC, so it matters to PC gamers, and the Malaysian offer comes with some fine print that is worth reading.

The offer at a glance

The bundle is officially priced at RM10,999 with only 30 units nationwide. Pre-orders are available online from 8pm on 2 October until 15 October 2026, while stocks last. GamerBraves and TechNave describe the same launch. Both give the price, the 30-unit cap and the order window.

Both headlines say the bundle "lands" in Malaysia. What actually happened is that pre-orders opened. Nothing in the evidence shows shipments or shelf availability, so don't read the word "lands" as "in stock".

  • Price: RM10,999 for the bundle.
  • Supply: 30 units for all of Malaysia.
  • Window: 2 to 15 October 2026, while stocks last.
  • Promotions: Pre-order customers also receive an ROG Ally Limited Edition Loot Box and get 20% off selected ROG gaming gear through a purchase-with-purchase (PWP) deal. The reports don't list the loot box contents or which gear qualifies. The PWP discount applies to other gear. It does not reduce the bundle price.
  • Standalone handheld: ASUS has confirmed that the standalone Malaysian price of the X20 will be announced later.

What the RM10,999 includes

According to ASUS Malaysia, the package contains:

  • The ROG Xbox Ally X20 handheld, in a translucent black chassis with a gold internal structure. It marks ROG's 20th anniversary in 2026.
  • ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses.
  • A custom dbrand Killswitch case. It has a kickstand, ruggedized grips and gold-and-black accents. A circuit-board-pattern face skin and ROG-branded joystick covers come with it.
  • A custom Pelican Protector Case with red ROG latches and a 20th-anniversary badge.
  • A 68W charger.

ASUS says the glasses connect to the handheld over a single USB Type-C cable. It also says they integrate with Command Center. ASUS lists these glasses features:

  • A 171-inch virtual screen at four metres.
  • A 240Hz micro-OLED display.
  • A 57° field of view.
  • A 0.01ms response time.
  • Audio by Bose.
  • Native 3DoF tracking, plus an Anchor Mode that keeps the screen in one place.

Those figures describe the glasses. They are not the handheld's own display.

The handheld itself

ASUS's Malaysian spec page lists the RC74XA family with model codes RC74X-ATW020W and RC74X-ATW021W. It runs Windows 11 Home.

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, with 8 cores and 16 threads, boosting up to 5.0GHz. It has an XDNA NPU rated up to 50 TOPS.
  • Display: 7.4-inch 1920×1080 OLED touchscreen at 120Hz. Peak brightness is 600 nits SDR and 1,400 nits HDR. Other listed features are 100% DCI-P3, Dolby Vision, FreeSync Premium Pro and Gorilla Glass Victus with a DXC anti-reflective coating.
  • Memory and storage: 24GB LPDDR5X on board and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 SSD.
  • Ports:
  • A USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with DisplayPort and power delivery.
  • A second Type-C port with USB4, which ASUS describes as Thunderbolt 4-compliant.
  • A microSD Express reader.
  • A 3.5mm combo audio jack.
  • Wireless: Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. ASUS notes that the Bluetooth version may change with the OS version.
  • Battery and size: 80Wh battery, 756g, 30.0 × 12.1 × 2.75–5.13cm.
  • Controls: Hall-effect analog triggers, TMR joysticks, a transforming D-pad, HD haptics, a six-axis IMU and two assignable grip buttons.
  • Security: a Microsoft Pluton security processor and a fingerprint sensor.

Reading the fine print

Game Pass. ASUS lists three months of Game Pass for PC. The terms say it is only available in eligible markets, which are determined at activation. The catalogue varies by region, device and time. Check that the Malaysian offer includes it before you count it as a perk.

Windows edition. ASUS says Windows 11 Home may ship as the Single Language edition in selected markets.

Pricing disclaimers. ASUS says specifications can change. It also says resellers set their own prices and that listed prices may exclude tax, shipping and handling.

Handheld versus original. Lowyat.NET reports that the X20 keeps most of the hardware of the standard ROG Xbox Ally X. The headline changes are the 7.4-inch OLED panel and the new design. That makes this less a new silicon generation than a display and style refresh with a collector's bundle on top.

Is it good value?

The evidence doesn't say. There is no itemised price for the glasses, cases or handheld in Malaysia, because the standalone price hasn't been announced. Nor are there any benchmarks, battery tests or reviews.

For rough context, the global US offer is $1,299 for the standalone handheld and $2,499 for the 20th Anniversary Bundle. SoyaCincau, in August, converted the US prices to roughly RM5,231 for the handheld and RM3,217 for the glasses alone. Those are currency conversions and not Malaysian prices. Taxes, local pricing and allocation will all differ.

Who should care

  • Collectors: with 30 units for the whole country, the 15 October end date will likely matter less than speed. That is my reading of the small allocation, and the sales data doesn't confirm it.
  • Buyers who want the handheld: if you only want the X20, wait for the standalone price.
  • AR glasses fans: the bundle is the only confirmed Malaysian way to get the glasses with the handheld. The glasses are also coming separately, but their local price hasn't been published either.

This is a pre-order for a Windows 11 handheld in a collector's package. It is not a shipping announcement.

Update: Earliest bundle dispatch reported for 16 October (October 6, 2026)

According to TechBarrista’s 6 October report, ASUS lists 16 October 2026 as the earliest dispatch date for Malaysian ROG Xbox Ally X20 bundle pre-orders. That adds a prospective shipping timeline absent from the earlier coverage, although the report does not establish that any units have shipped.

The distinction matters for buyers planning when they can use the Windows 11 handheld: an earliest dispatch date is not a guaranteed delivery date. It also does not establish immediate retail availability. The reported date falls one day after the scheduled pre-order window closes on 15 October, so purchasers should not interpret the existing pre-order announcement as evidence that the bundle is already shipping.

TechBarrista does not provide a delivery estimate or say whether every accepted order will dispatch on 16 October. Buyers therefore have a reported starting point for fulfilment, rather than a confirmed arrival schedule. The new information narrows the timing uncertainty but does not change the earlier article’s central distinction between taking orders and shipping hardware.
