A compact gaming PC and peripherals sit on a desk beneath a monitor displaying a dramatic sci-fi scene.
MINISFORUM has added a Radeon-powered configuration to its AtomMan G1 Pro gaming mini PC, pairing the Ryzen 9 8945HX with a dedicated Radeon RX 9060 XT and 16GB of VRAM. XiaomiToday and Notebookcheck reported the launch on September 30, 2026; Notebookcheck identifies it as an alternative to the existing GeForce RTX 5060 configuration, rather than an entirely new platform.

The attraction is straightforward: more graphics memory in a compact desktop. The buying decision is less straightforward—and two details in the official specifications deserve attention before anyone reaches for a credit card.

Price and shipping: launched does not mean delivered

As of October 1, MINISFORUM’s US store lists the G1 Pro-89A6 at $1,759, including 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, with estimated shipping in late October 2026. That is a configured-system price, not a barebones price, and the shipping window remains an estimate.

Notebookcheck reports a $1,719 price for the RTX 5060 version. At those reported prices, the Radeon option carries a $40 premium and doubles graphics memory from 8GB to 16GB. Notebookcheck also highlights the Nvidia configuration’s DLSS Multi Frame Generation support as a competing consideration.

The useful comparison is therefore memory capacity versus application-specific features—not simply AMD versus Nvidia.

The CPU stays, but check the memory ceiling

AMD confirms that the Ryzen 9 8945HX uses Zen 4 architecture, with 16 cores, 32 threads and a maximum boost clock of up to 5.4GHz. This is an HX-class processor; the similar-looking 8945HS name should not be treated as interchangeable.

There is also a specification discrepancy worth flagging. MINISFORUM advertises support for 96GB of DDR5-5200 SO-DIMM memory, while AMD’s processor page lists a 64GB maximum. These are different published limits, not proof that the system vendor’s configuration is invalid. Buyers planning a 96GB upgrade should obtain confirmation of supported memory kits and firmware requirements from MINISFORUM rather than assuming every kit will work.

Storage expansion is less ambiguous: MINISFORUM specifies two PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots, supporting up to 4TB per slot.

The Radeon’s power rating changes the comparison

MINISFORUM lists the installed Radeon GPU at 140W, whereas AMD specifies 160W typical board power for the standard desktop RX 9060 XT 16GB. AMD’s own specification material notes that partner-board specifications can differ.

The practical implication is important: benchmarks of a conventional desktop RX 9060 XT should not automatically be presented as AtomMan G1 Pro results. The published power figures differ, and neither GPU branding nor VRAM capacity establishes this particular system’s sustained performance.

Similarly, twice the memory does not mean twice the frame rate. Treat the larger VRAM allocation as a capacity advantage, not a measured speed advantage.

Useful Windows desk-setup details

MINISFORUM lists Windows 11 Pro support, a built-in 350W power supply, 5GbE Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Its front and rear USB-C connections are explicitly data-only; the Radeon configuration instead provides HDMI and DisplayPort outputs for displays.

That USB-C qualification matters. Anyone planning a monitor connection through USB-C should build their display setup around the documented video outputs instead. A familiar connector shape is not a promise of familiar capabilities.

The bottom line

The AtomMan G1 Pro-89A6 adds a meaningful choice to an existing compact gaming-PC platform: a 16GB Radeon configuration alongside the 8GB GeForce option. The launch reporting establishes that change, but does not provide comparative testing of the two complete systems.

For prospective buyers, the sensible next questions are concrete: Does the intended software favor one GPU platform? Is a 96GB memory upgrade explicitly supported? And how does the 140W Radeon implementation perform under sustained load?

Those answers will matter more than another enthusiastic adjective on the product page.
