An armored explorer scans an alien-infested outpost with a drone as a blue hologram glows against icy mountains.
Moadra is scheduled to launch on October 22, 2026, bringing Gloomsoft’s science-fiction Metroidvania to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam. VGChartz and Gematsu report the same developer announcement, with Gematsu publishing its coverage on October 1. For Windows players, the useful additional detail is the published PC hardware baseline—not just another date to squeeze into the gaming calendar.

Windows requirements: DirectX 12 and 9 GB of storage

Gloomsoft’s Steam listing now explicitly shows October 22, 2026 as the planned release date and says the full game is not yet available. It also provides the following Windows requirements.

ComponentMinimumRecommended
Operating systemWindows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bitWindows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit
ProcessorQuad-core processorIntel Core i3-8100 or similar
Memory4 GB RAM8 GB RAM
GraphicsNVIDIA GeForce GTX 900 series or similarNVIDIA GeForce GTX 970, 4 GB, or similar
DirectXVersion 12Version 12
Storage9 GB available9 GB available

Both tiers require a 64-bit processor and operating system. These are developer-published specifications, not independently measured performance results.

The important qualification is precision: “quad-core” and “GTX 900 series” describe broad categories rather than a tightly defined minimum configuration. The listing supplies no target resolution or frame rate, so meeting those requirements should not be read as a promise of a particular experience.

Exploration, scanning, and biological upgrades

According to Gloomsoft’s overview reproduced by Gematsu, Moadra takes players to Protea VI, an alien world encompassing exposed wastelands, freezing heights, and an infested research facility. Movement includes dodging, rolling, wall-jumping, and sprinting, with weapons and special abilities supporting combat. These are advertised mechanics, not findings from a hands-on review.

Two systems give the announcement a more specific identity. A scanner bot and X-ray vision reveal concealed routes and help map explored areas. Defeated organisms supply Protoplasm, which players consume in organic chambers to evolve weapons and abilities. In other words, exploration and progression are presented as connected systems rather than separate checklists. Whether that connection remains satisfying throughout the game will require actual play to establish.

A practical option before launch

Steam lists a downloadable demo, alongside single-player support, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing. Gloomsoft’s content notice warns of frequent violence and gore.

For prospective PC players, trying the demo is a more useful next step than guessing performance from a loosely worded GPU requirement. Treat any demo experience as preliminary, however—not a guarantee of how the finished release will perform.

The takeaway is straightforward: October 22 is the announced launch date across the listed platforms, while Windows users already have requirements and a demo listing to inform their preparations. That is enough for a practical launch brief; judgments about performance, polish, and gameplay quality must wait.
