What was announced
OneXPlayer (One-Netbook) has previewed the Super X Pro as a new version of its gaming tablet built around AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495. The company claims it is the first 2-in-1 PC to use AMD's latest flagship Ryzen AI Max processor.
The original Super X arrived in December 2025, according to Notebookcheck. It used the same Ryzen AI Max+ 395 as its Asus ROG Flow Z13 rival. The Pro model moves to the newer 495 from AMD's Gorgon Halo architecture.
All figures below are company-announced claims from a preview, not independent measurements.
The chip: Gorgon Halo, a modest step
The Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 is a Zen 5 part with 16 cores, 32 threads, boost clocks up to 5.2 GHz, a 55 TOPS NPU and integrated Radeon 8065S graphics. The Radeon 8065S uses RDNA 3.5 with 40 compute units and clocks up to 3.0 GHz.
The Radeon 8060S in the older chip also has 40 compute units. It is not a generational leap. AMD's ROCm release notes list the two parts side by side, as Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 (Radeon 8065S) next to the 395 with the 8060S. AMD has already moved the original Super X's Strix Halo silicon into a "Pro" naming scheme.
Notebookcheck says its own benchmarks show only small gains. It reports that the 495 offers minimal performance upgrades over the 395. That is Notebookcheck's assessment. It is not a test of this specific device. The 8065S "appears to be a minor revision of the Radeon 8060S at best," in the publication's words.
The 160 GB "VRAM" claim
The memory numbers are the real news here. The Super X Pro is offered with 128 GB or 192 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 unified memory, with bandwidth of up to 273 GB/s. Because the CPU and integrated graphics share one pool, up to 160 GB can be allocated to the GPU in the 192 GB configuration. Notebookcheck says the predecessor topped out at 96 GB.
Read "160 GB VRAM" carefully:
- It is not dedicated graphics memory like a discrete GPU's. It is a share of the same system memory, so every gigabyte given to the GPU is one the CPU and Windows lose.
- It is a maximum, and only the 192 GB configuration reaches it. The 128 GB option cannot.
- 273 GB/s is respectable for an integrated design. It is still well below the bandwidth of a high-end discrete GPU's dedicated memory, so large models will run slower than their capacity suggests.
- The practical benefit is fitting big local AI models into memory at all. Capacity does not mean fast games.
Some coverage repeats OneXPlayer's claim that the machine can run AI models of up to 300 billion parameters locally. According to OneXPlayer, the device can run models with up to 300 billion parameters. Treat that as a marketing ceiling. It depends on quantization, context length and software support, and it has not been tested on this hardware.
One Windows-side item may matter to buyers. AMD's ROCm 10.1.0 release notes say they resolve an out-of-memory issue on APUs such as Strix Halo on Windows. The fix covers cases where models exceed dedicated graphics memory and spill into shared memory. In other words, AMD's Windows software is still maturing for large-memory APUs. If you plan to run local models on this class of machine, check driver and runtime support first.
Cooling, power and the optional accessory
The Super X Pro has a dual-fan cooling system and supports OneXPlayer's Frost Bay external liquid cooler through a rear connector. With it attached, the company says the system can sustain up to 120 W. Notebookcheck frames that 120 W figure as available when the optional liquid cooling is configured. Without the accessory, expect lower sustained power. OneXPlayer has not published standard-mode figures in the material reviewed here.
For context, AMD's own processor listing gives a configurable TDP range rather than a single fixed number. That is a chip specification, not a promise about this chassis.
Display, battery, storage and ports
- Display: A 14-inch AMOLED panel at 2880 × 1800, up to 120 Hz, with VRR and HDR.
- Battery and charging: an 85 Wh-class battery (IT Home reports 85.58 Wh) with a 240 W GaN charger in the box.
- Chassis: CNC-machined metal, roughly 13 mm thick, with a kickstand that opens to 173°.
- Storage: An M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD, plus a MINI SSD expansion option developed with BIWIN.
- Ports: Two USB4, one USB-A, HDMI 2.1, a MINI SSD slot, a microSD reader and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Notebookcheck notes that there is still no OCuLink, which limits external GPU options for people who wanted a desktop-class GPU dock.
Price and availability: still unclear
Notebookcheck says One-Netbook describes the device as coming soon but has not confirmed pricing or a specific release date. One outlet, Mobidevices, headlines a price of about $8,079 for the top configuration. I could not corroborate that figure in the other sources I reviewed. Notebookcheck says no price is confirmed. Treat the number as unverified until OneXPlayer publishes it.
For reference, the original Super X went through Kickstarter pricing from $1,899 to $2,759. A 192 GB Pro configuration will almost certainly cost much more, but that is inference, not a confirmed figure.
Who is this for?
It makes sense for:
- Developers and AI hobbyists who want to experiment with large local models on a portable Windows machine.
- Creators who need a lot of memory for large scenes or projects.
It makes less sense for:
- Buyers who want a big jump in raw speed over a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 machine. Notebookcheck's benchmarks suggest there isn't one.
- Anyone who needs sustained 120 W performance without carrying a liquid-cooling accessory.
- Anyone who needs OCuLink.
Bottom line
The Super X Pro is mostly a memory story. The 495 and Radeon 8065S look like a modest refresh, but the 192 GB ceiling and 160 GB GPU allocation open up local AI workloads that most laptops cannot hold in memory. Until OneXPlayer confirms price, date and final configurations, and until independent reviewers test sustained power and software behavior, the headline numbers are promises rather than results.
