Original Xbox games may be getting achievements, and some listings have shown up early. Players have reported seeing classic titles on their console Achievements pages. Those entries show no actual achievements yet. The reports are early and unofficial, but they line up with something Microsoft has already promised.

A dimly lit gaming setup features Xbox consoles and controllers beside a screen displaying game achievements. What was spotted

Psychonauts, Destroy All Humans and Star Wars Republic Commando are among the games shown in screenshots shared by Xbox users. Pure Xbox reports that multiple X/Twitter users say these and other original Xbox titles appear on their console Achievements page. Techtroduce says the sightings emerged in social media posts dated October 22, 2026, including screenshots shared by X user @xgramiliki.

The key detail is that every entry reportedly reads "0/0". The entries currently display "0/0" achievements rather than individual objectives or Gamerscore values. In plain terms, the games have a slot in the list but nothing inside it.

What the sightings do and don't prove

  • Not proof of a rollout. The listings do not establish that achievements are functional or that the affected games have been officially selected for the feature.
  • Two plausible readings. Pure Xbox says this could be groundwork, because Xbox may not have created the achievements yet. It could also be a mistake. They could reflect preliminary changes to Xbox's achievement system, but an unintended appearance of existing game records has not been ruled out.
  • No Microsoft comment. None of the coverage I reviewed includes Microsoft explaining the listings.

My read, as general industry reasoning rather than anything sourced: a placeholder entry with no achievements usually means a backend record exists before the content is ready. That is a guess, though, and it doesn't tell you which games will get lists or when.

What Microsoft has confirmed

The official commitment comes from Jason Ronald, Xbox's VP of Next Generation. His July 22, 2026 Xbox Wire post introduced Xbox Backward Compatibility on PC. In it he wrote that later this year Xbox will bring "one of the top fan-requested features to select original XBOX games on both console and PC: Achievements."

The same post named the first four PC titles: BLiNX: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge and Fuzion Frenzy. Microsoft said those four games will be updated to include Achievements in the coming months.

Coverage of the announcement noted two gaps. The company expects to release the feature later this year, although it has not announced a specific launch date. Also, Microsoft has not confirmed which games could join the program next.

The mismatch worth noting

The games in the sightings (Psychonauts, Destroy All Humans, Republic Commando) are not the four Microsoft named. Two readings fit that:

  • The four named games are the first wave, and the sightings hint at a wider "select" group.
  • The listings are unrelated to the final selection.

Nothing available settles it. TrueAchievements pointed out in July that 49 more OG Xbox titles are available via the Backward Compatibility library. That is a large pool, and Psychonauts is among the titles it speculated might get lists.

The November anniversary talk

The October 22 post that kicked this off expressed hope that November's 25th anniversary of the platform would bring more backward compatibility news. That is a fan's expectation. Microsoft has said only "later this year" and "in the coming months". Treat the anniversary as a plausible moment for an announcement, not a deadline.

Why this matters for PC and Windows readers

Microsoft says achievements are planned for both console and PC. The PC side runs through the Xbox on PC app. Microsoft's listed minimum requirements for PC and handheld access are:

  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 950, AMD Radeon RX 550 or Intel Arc A310
  • CPU: 4 cores and 8 threads, such as an Intel Core i3-10300 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100
  • RAM: 8 GB, with 4 GB of video memory
  • OS: Windows 11

Those are the PC program's requirements. Nothing indicates they relate to the console listings. The PC games also carry a licensing benefit: those who already own the Xbox titles on console will have instant access over on PC, though they're also included in all Xbox Game Pass plans.

What to watch for

  1. Real achievement counts. A change from "0/0" to actual numbers and Gamerscore values would be the first sign of live lists.
  2. An official Xbox Wire post. This would list the supported games and give a date.
  3. Whether the four PC-launch games get lists first. Microsoft's wording points that way for those titles.
  4. Cross-platform sync. Microsoft promised console and PC support. It has not said how progress will carry between them.

Bottom line

The reported listings are a small, ambiguous clue that something is moving in Xbox's achievement backend. Microsoft's July promise stands, but no date, game list or live achievement has been confirmed. If your own console shows a "0/0" entry, enjoy the oddity but don't expect to unlock anything yet.
