A rainy mountain-town street glows beside a shop window displaying an Xbox setup and a February 2027 sign.
Persona 4 Revival is not new news as of October 4, 2026, and the "Shadow trailer reveal" framing is off. The February 18, 2027 date was announced months ago, and the game is already listed for Windows, Xbox and Game Pass. Here is what is actually confirmed for Xbox and PC players, and where the original coverage went wrong.

The date wasn't an October surprise

A recent write-up on shattered.io presents an October 3 "Shadow" trailer as the moment ATLUS confirmed the release date and platforms. The record says otherwise. Xbox Wire says the date was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase: Persona 4 Revival arrives February 18, 2027. That showcase post is dated June 2026. The social posts that day, such as one from June 7, 2026, already listed Xbox (Game Pass), PS5 and PC.

SEGA's own Japanese announcement from June 8, 2026 says the same. It describes a worldwide simultaneous release on February 18, 2027, with preorders opening in stages across platforms. (This is from SEGA's announcement, not a quote from the Xbox material.)

The takeaway is simple. A trailer in October may be fresh marketing, but it did not establish the date or the platform list.

What Xbox and Windows players get

Xbox's own description is the most useful for this audience:

  • The game launches February 18, 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud, and is included with Game Pass.
  • Xbox says players can play on both console and PC at no additional cost through Xbox Play Anywhere.
  • VGChartz reports the PC version arriving via Steam and the Microsoft Store.

SEGA's Japanese listing names Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Windows, PlayStation 5 and Steam. SEGA's Tokyo Game Show page for the game uses the same platform line.

None of these sources specifies a Game Pass tier, so this article doesn't name one. The shattered.io claim that "Game Pass Ultimate" subscribers get it is not established by those sources. Its claims about subscriber retention and SEGA's per-unit revenue are the outlet's own analysis, not reported facts.

About the "four platforms" headline

The count is ambiguous, so here is how the platforms break down:

PlatformDateNotes
Xbox Series XSFeb 18, 2027
Xbox on PC / WindowsFeb 18, 2027Microsoft Store per VGChartz
SteamFeb 18, 2027Separate storefront from the Xbox PC app
PlayStation 5Feb 18, 2027Physical copies available
Nintendo Switch 2May 20, 2027Separate, later release per SEGA's site

SEGA's official site lists Switch 2 with its own date. It also says physical copies are available only for PS5 and Switch 2. SEGA's Japanese announcement says the standard boxed edition there is PS5-only. SEGA gives no reason for the Switch 2 gap, so the claim that it reflects a Nintendo optimization problem is the outlet's speculation.

Gameplay details are already public

The claim that no gameplay information exists is out of date. SEGA's official site lists these features:

  • Guarding: blocking a Shadow's attack can stun it. While exploring, you can strike first or avoid combat.
  • Baton Pass: during a 1 More, you can pass an extra attack to another party member.
  • Prime Time: a gauge-based mode that allows consecutive actions and skills at no cost, ignores enemy resistances, and ends with a "Series Finale" attack.
  • New scenes and Local Tours: new seasonal events, plus tours of Inaba with Aika Nakamura.
  • Voice and music: the main story is re-recorded, voice acting is added for Social Links and new events, and Ryota Kozuka composes the music.

The official site's feature list also covers new scenes and added voice acting. That undercuts the shattered.io assertion that the remake adds nothing beyond graphics, UI and combat. The remake is a complete reimagining of the 2012 Golden version, per Xbox Wire's description.

Price and PC specs

The outlet says no price has been announced. That is only true if you ignore the stores. SEGA's Japanese prices are ¥9,900 for the standard edition, ¥11,880 for Digital Deluxe and ¥13,640 for Digital Premium. The boxed Limited Box is ¥18,480, all tax included.

Reports around the June announcement also say US prices appeared on the PlayStation Store. One of them is the jeu.video piece, which says official US prices were listed. I could not independently confirm the exact US figures here, so I won't quote them. Treat them as PlayStation Store prices, not Xbox or Steam prices.

Windows system requirements were not in any of the official material I reviewed. Don't trust any specification list you see until SEGA or the storefronts publish one.

What to do now

  1. If you subscribe to Game Pass, plan on February 18 as your play date. Check your plan tier closer to launch, since the tier wasn't specified.
  2. If you'd rather own it, compare the Xbox, Microsoft Store and Steam listings before buying. Play Anywhere is the Xbox-side route to a single purchase covering console and PC.
  3. Wait for PC requirements before upgrading hardware. None have been published in the sources reviewed.

Bottom line

For Windows and Xbox readers, the real news is a firm February 18, 2027 date. The game is included with Game Pass, supports Play Anywhere, and has a confirmed PC release. The "October reveal" story is recycled, and it understates what is already known about gameplay and pricing.
