Mxdwn covered the announcement on October 2, 2026; Gematsu’s announcement report was already published on October 1. Neither should be mistaken for a launch notice. Steam still lists the release date as unannounced, while Epic marks the game as coming soon. Both PC stores offer wishlisting.
A phone that makes danger visible
According to Serafini Productions’ description reproduced by Gematsu, protagonist Aki Mizuno inherits an unusual cellphone after her mother disappears. Her investigation leads into Nishikawa High School, where supernatural entities are connected to emotional wounds and concealed memories.
The phone is more than a storytelling prop. Its vibrations, noises, and visual interference warn of nearby presences; it also reveals hidden clues and detects enemies before they fully appear. Combat requires exposing entities first, potentially by disturbing them with the flash or drawing out their spiritual vulnerabilities. Supplies are limited, and declining emotional stability changes Aki’s perception, the environment, and enemy behavior. These are announced mechanics, not independently tested findings.
The interesting design proposition is that noticing danger becomes part of fighting it. Whether that produces sustained tension rather than repetitive encounters remains a question for the finished game—not something an announcement can settle.
Windows requirements: two stores, two different pictures
Steam’s published specifications are comparatively modest:
| Component | Steam minimum | Steam recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10, 64-bit | Windows 10/11, 64-bit |
| Processor | Core i5-2500 / AMD FX-6300 | Core i5-9600K / Ryzen 5 3600 |
| RAM | 8 GB | 16 GB |
| Graphics | GTX 750 Ti / Radeon HD 7850 | GTX 1660 Super / Radeon RX 580 |
| DirectX | 11 | 12 |
| Free storage | 4 GB | 4 GB |
Steam also specifies keyboard and mouse and recommends an SSD for loading.
Epic’s GPU requirements tell a different story: its minimum lists an RX 5700 or GTX 1070, while recommended graphics rise to an RX 6700 XT or RTX 2070. Its requirements section also appears misconfigured: RAM amounts occupy CPU fields, and storage amounts occupy memory fields. Those entries cannot establish usable processor requirements.
The practical takeaway: do not treat either listing as a settled performance promise or use these conflicting figures alone to justify a hardware upgrade. The discrepancy needs clarification; neither page specifies the resolution or frame-rate target behind its requirements.
Credits and content worth noting
Both storefronts credit Time Hunters and Serafini Productions as developers, with Serafini Productions publishing. Steam’s developer-provided content notice flags bullying, traumatic themes, gore, corpses, and profanity—useful context beyond the retro visual style.
For Windows players, the announcement establishes a forthcoming PC release with a distinctive detection-and-combat hook. The immediate compatibility finding is less reassuring: the storefront specifications disagree. Until those details align, the hardware question deserves as much caution as the haunted hallway.
