Warhammer Survivors arrives on Xbox Game Pass on 10 November 2026, four days from now. It's available on day one for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. If you've been waiting to see whether a licensed Warhammer take on the Survivors formula is worth your time, the subscription route is the cheapest way in.

A gaming monitor displays a grimdark fantasy battle as heroes unleash magic and gunfire on a skeletal horde. What Xbox has confirmed

Xbox's own November wave-one post, published 3 November by Megan Spurr, lists the game for 10 November. The entry's wording is "Available on day one with XBOX Game Pass!" Two plans are named: Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The listed platforms are Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld and PC.

Xbox's footnote defines the "Handheld" tag as games optimized for handheld play. The listing doesn't name a specific device, so don't read it as a promise about any one handheld.

Who gets it, and who doesn't

Game Pass Premium and Game Pass Essential don't appear on the Warhammer Survivors entry. Treat those tiers as not included at launch.

Tier eligibility varies by game in this wave:

  • Thronefall (11 November) is listed for Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass.
  • Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors (4 November) is flagged as newly joining Premium alongside Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
  • Warhammer Survivors gets neither of those expansions. Its listing names only Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

A Premium or Essential subscriber would need to buy the game separately. Search coverage notes that day-one Game Pass releases here are limited to Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

Who made it

Xbox describes the game as officially licensed. It's credited to Auroch Digital, in partnership with poncle, whom Xbox identifies as the Vampire Survivors developers. The Game Pass post doesn't say how the work is divided between the two studios.

Other sources fill in more:

  • Steam's store page lists Auroch Digital as both developer and publisher. It also credits Warhammer and poncle as partners.
  • Auroch's own 2025 reveal said it was developed by Auroch in partnership with poncle and Warhammer.
  • Auroch is the studio behind Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun.

So "poncle made this" is too strong. The better description is an Auroch Digital game made with poncle's involvement.

What's in the game

The Xbox listing pitches "bullet-heaven" action with barrages of bullets, blades and magic, wrapped in animated pixel art. That's marketing copy, not a review. Steam's page adds a few concrete product details:

  • It draws on both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
  • It has over 40 playable characters.
  • It has 75+ weapons.
  • It's single-player, and Steam lists achievements and Steam Cloud support.
  • The minimum PC spec is modest: Windows 10 64-bit, a dual-core 2.4 GHz CPU, 4 GB of RAM, a GTX 750-class GPU and 5 GB of storage.

For PC Game Pass users on older hardware, that spec is more forgiving than most modern releases.

Price: a correction

Make Tech Easier's report says no price appears in Xbox's post. That's true of the Xbox post, but the price is public elsewhere. Gematsu reports that Auroch announced it at $7.99 / £6.39 / €7.49. FullCleared adds that a 10 percent launch and preorder discount applied on select platforms.

One outlet cited by a WindowsForum community thread gave a US price of $6.99. The thread treats $7.99 as the more likely figure, since other outlets and the developer's Steam post agree on it. Check your own store listing for the final number.

Buy or subscribe?

For an Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscriber, the game is included at no extra charge for as long as it stays in the catalog. Xbox's post doesn't say how long that will be. Subscribers don't need to pay the roughly $8 purchase price.

Anyone without a qualifying plan has two options:

  1. Buy it outright. It's priced at the level of the original Vampire Survivors.
  2. Try the demo first. Gematsu reports a PC demo was available. A WindowsForum community thread reports that progress from the earlier demo doesn't carry over to the new one, and I couldn't verify that independently.

What the evidence doesn't establish

The Xbox listing doesn't cover several things:

  • Exclusivity
  • Cross-play
  • Multiplayer support
  • Save-transfer behavior
  • Catalog duration

Gematsu's report on the developer announcement lists many platforms beyond Xbox and PC, including PlayStation 5, Switch and mobile. A community thread also mentions Xbox Play Anywhere, but I couldn't confirm that from Xbox's own listing. If cross-device play matters to you, check the Xbox or Microsoft Store page on 10 November.

Other releases on the same day

Warhammer Survivors shares 10 November with two other Ultimate and PC Game Pass additions: Football Manager 2027 Console and Tanuki: Pon's Summer. Microsoft Sudoku's subscriber benefits also start that day on PC.

Bottom line

The practical facts are simple:

  • The date is 10 November.
  • The plans are Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
  • Premium and Essential subscribers are excluded.
  • The standalone price is $7.99 in the US.
  • Credit goes to Auroch Digital, with poncle as a partner.

The game is also a modest PC install. Whether it's actually good is a question the launch will answer.
