About this tag
The 0x0000007E stop error, also known as a blue screen of death (BSOD), is a common Windows system error that can occur during boot or while running applications. On WindowsForum.com, users have reported this error when installing a new hard drive, after hot removal of a PCI device, or when running VSS-based backup applications. The error may be linked to driver issues, such as iaStor.sys, or hardware changes. Troubleshooting often involves checking dump files, updating drivers, and ensuring hardware compatibility. Microsoft has released fixes for specific scenarios, including Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
