About this tag
The app bar in Windows 8 and 8.1 is a user interface element that appears at the top-left corner of the screen, allowing you to manage and switch between active apps without leaving the desktop. Users can right-click app thumbnails on the app bar to access additional options, such as resizing or replacing apps. The app bar is distinct from the Charms bar and is designed to help users multitask by keeping apps accessible while staying on the desktop. Discussions highlight that many users may not be aware of the app bar's functionality, which could reduce frustration with the Windows 8 UI if utilized properly.
