I am currently running Windows XP 32-bit. I am attempting to install Windows 7 64 (yes, my processor is a 64). When I boot from the disk, I get the initial black screen and the loading files bar, the moving dots and windows logo. Then an artsy blue screen and nothing else. I can move my mouse...

Hi there,
I've been using W7 RC x64 since it came out and I must say it worked great.
However, this morning I've had a Disk boot failure message. I didn't have time to investigate yet, but I'd like to hear your thoughts about the possible cause of this.
I did not install anything that day or...
Hello,
I want to setup a Raid 1 mirror from one drive to another using Windows software raid. I know in XP you could not do this on the boot partition (C drive). Is it possible to do this in Windows 7?
Thanks

Check out http://windows7news.com/2009/04/27/upgrading-from-windows-7-rc-to-final/ for a fairly logical and believable answer to the question of upgrading from RC to RTM.

Now that I have used XP Mode enough to feel safe with it, I want to remove the dual boot from my system. My boot drive has two partitions. Drive C boots to Windows 7 and D boots to XP. If I format drive D will I still be able to boot up in Windows 7?
Thanks in advance,
Cygnus333 (Chris)
Hi, yesterday i intalled 7 on my ASUS G50VT-X1, it's running ok except by a little problem, after i put a DVD/CD in the drive it reads it for a few minutes and then disconnect the drive with the disc rotating inside it (it does not stop after a while), after that it does not appear in 'Devices...

I don't know what, but have one partition and 2 drive (un-partitioned) that I can't read.
This seems like an easy fix IF I can find a program to do it.
The drive appears to be intact. Paragon partition manager show correct info about drives.
I can even BOOT to windows 7...
Ok, so i tried installing Win 7 RC1 on an external HDD, but got following problems:
1. on eSATA it wouldn't see it, as i assume the drivers for the controller are loaded after booting, during windows startup (if any one knows a workaround for this, something as a startup flash drive for loading...
I have been troubleshooting an issue for a week where the p.c. goes through normal quick shutdown process but just restarts instead of shutting down..

Is there a limit to the size of a boot partition for Windows? Seems like Win 7 will only install on partitions smaller than about 2TB. If this is the case, what is the best way to make sure all the user directories and public folders are installed to a different drive rather than the boot...
HI all. topic is self explanitory. How do you make a bootable Windows 7 disk. I have the ISO files but when I try to make a disk it will not boot. Using UltraISO I was able to burn what I thought was a bootable disk, but on startup the screen just goes black and I';m stuck with a blinking cursor...
Actually, I had this problem with 7000 and 7022 as well.
Insert DVD
Launch setup.exe from within Win7 7048
Click "Install Now"
Almost immediately I get:
"Windows Setup cannot find a location to store temporary installation files. To install Windows, make sure that a partition on your...
