About this tag
The boot key tag on WindowsForum.com covers discussions about encryption keys required at system startup, particularly in BitLocker scenarios without a TPM. Users explore alternatives to USB flash drives for storing the boot key, such as using an internal SD card. Topics include BitLocker configuration on Windows 7, recovery environment issues after failed updates, and the trade-offs between different key storage methods. The tag reflects practical troubleshooting for enterprise and home users managing full-disk encryption on systems lacking TPM hardware.
