Hello, I've been having BSOD and can't really figure out what is going on. I have done a bunch of googling and just get more confused, lol. Losing mind. Need help. LOL. I have a Samsung Chronos Series 7 Model NP700Z7C-S01US. I tried to link to specs, but the forum wouldn't let me.
(As I was...
As stated in the title my Inspiron 15 3000 Series has been taking a lot longer when starting up recently. Before the last update it was turning on in like 3 seconds after you put the password in, but now it takes 30 to 40 seconds just to get passed the blue welcome screen. Not to mention, after...
I dual boot Win 7 and Win 10 TP.
If I want to switch OS, all I have to do is to click Restart and I will be given a choice of the 2 OSs. That's nice.
The time it takes to switch to the other OS seems to be forever. That's disgusting.
Is there any way to speed up the switch over ?
Maybe, some will find this interesting.
I am running Windows 10 on a 2 processor, 4GB RAM, VM
Host is i7 w/ 8GB RAM.
Boot after entering P/W is basically instant.
General operation speed is mostly a matter of can I click fast enough to keep pace w/ it, as in WHOOOOSH!
Anyway, here's the...
Maybe this will be of use to some.
Worth adding here, perhaps.
Users have read, or experienced, a faster boot time in Windows 10. In a way, this has been a bit of a cheat by Microsoft. What they have done is eliminated a window/facility during the boot process. This has, itself, caused the now...
I'd like to understand how a normal boot displays running Windows 7.
Is there a period where the screen is basically black between the "Starting Windows" logo and the login screen? I typically get a black screen for up to 10 seconds prior to logging in.
I did discover yesterday that the Event...
Hi
For what it's worth I decided that since I never use IE and I haven't had any webpage ask me to for a long time I would remove it just to see what happens.
To my surprise my computer performs much better without it.
My boot to desktop time went from about a minute to 15 seconds, and I...
Word threw me an error saying 'something went wrong' and suggested I run an update. After doing that last night (Tues May 27) my computer runs like crap. Takes longer to boot than usual, and signimg in takes a good 10 min. I tried to open a browser to search for solutions. That took 15 min to...
I have a computer clean installed with Windows 8.1 Pro, it had Windows 7 installed on it but I formated it and installed Windows 8. Anyways, boot time is very fast as the Fast Boot helps it make it fast, of course. But after booting a day later without going on it, it shows the boot screen...

Hello all,

For last 4 days I had been fighting with my Win 8 pro preview which was installed in VMware 5.0.2

Finally I fish out my 7 years old Dell laptop which runs Vista 32-bit with only 2 GB Ram.
I did a clean install of win 8 pro preview.
The difference is...

Microsoft has released benchmarks and video testimony that shows the power of their new Windows 8 operating system. In boot and start-up benchmark scores, Windows 8 appears to obliterate Microsoft Windows 7. If that wasn't enough, Emily Wilson, Program Manager...
Hey everyone!
So, for a bout a year and a half, I've had this weird problem where for example, if I would be scrolling down a page in Firefox, there was a stutter going on every few seconds. The same kind of deal would happen when watching videos...if there was a movement whatsoever in the...

Hi, I've been having nightmare with PC boot times ( up to 1 hour long) and extremely limited usage after boot, due to 100% disk activity.
I have tried everything possible with windows itself, so today tried to test HDD with HDDtune Pro.
Question,
#1 - Are these low read speeds?
#2 - If so...

Hi All, My PC was running great but when I started it from overnight sleep, which woke at the normal speed, I as always did a manual update to Avast definitions. It did the download as quick as always, but then during the "saving package" it hung. I left it like that for some minutes, and then...
I noticed this a couple of months ago that my boot time went from about 40 secs to now being over 100 secs on a good day . Done all the disable pragramms in msconfig to the point that I only have AVG still enabled . I have read loads of google to try and fix this but nothing works ...

I have a brand new pc and normally it starts up in 30 ~ 40 seconds. Yesterday, I installed Easy-Hide-Ip and there were some Windows Updates also. From that moment on my pc boots in 2 minutes! In the ntbtlog.txt I've found some drivers did not load. Can this be the problem? What is the solution?
