Windows 7 Format HDD from Command Prompt, X: drive or Boot volume
So I am wiping my hard drive by booting with the Windows disk and going to command prompt. I successfully formatted drive C:, about 100 MB of system files and D:, about 500 GB or the bulk of my hard rive. These were the same hard drive, but separate partitions apparently. Windows 7 0x000000ED UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME Error on Netbook running XP
I have a netbook (Dell Mini 10) and am getting the BSOD. Anyone know how to help? I've done a bit of searching and it looks like we should do a chkdsk/r, but currently, I can't get it to work on any of my F8 start up options (nor have I ever done it before). Please help!- kermie
