About this tag
The Charms bar is a key element of the Windows 8 Metro interface, providing quick access to Search, Share, Start, Devices, and Settings. Users can open Charms by swiping from the right edge of the screen or using the keyboard shortcut Win+C. Within an app, Charms offer context-sensitive options: Search finds content inside the app, and Settings displays app-specific controls. Some users have reported issues with swipe gestures not working correctly, such as the right-side swipe only functioning on the top half of the screen. Additionally, keyboard shortcuts like Win+Q, Win+W, and Win+F provide alternative ways to access search and settings without using Charms. Understanding Charms is essential for navigating Windows 8 efficiently.

Windows 8 Can't open network window
Whenever I try to open the connect window, either by the charm icon or wherever, the screen flashes grey and the entire charm and taskbar sort of "reloads." This wouldn't be an issue if the wifi window opened, which it doesn't. I can't view networks to connect to. Any suggestions?- Zach Everett

Windows 8 Are Win+Q and Win+S identical under 8.1 RTM?
Pressing Win+Q under Windows 8.0 and Windows 8.1 Preview on my desktop PC and laptop displayed the app search screen. Under Window 8.1 RTM Win+Q shows only the Search charm which is identical to pressing Win+S. Is this the case after you upgraded, too? The same happened on my laptop for about...- Fierce Guppy

Windows 8 Maybe (A Response)
_______ , Maybe there could be room for not finding the Win8 UI flawed or something that makes people unhappy. Maybe it is ok & there is no need to make the OS into something it's not... that being some previous OS. Many people cannot agree that it suffers because it was made for certain...- Drew

Windows 8 Evaluating Windows 8's Native PDF Reader vs. Adobe Reader: Is It Enough?
As I have discussed elsewhere, previously, there is less necessity to add certain software, plug-ins, utilities & such w/ Windows8. Between it & what is or will be current browsers (like IE10) a lot, that wasn't, native, now is. In many cases things, that act as apps, are seemingly redundant...- Drew

Face of Jesus appears on log
The face of Jesus has been very busy, appearing on chicken feathers, a tea towel and a drainpipe among many other places – and it's come to light that it's also turned up on the end of a wooden log.
