OK...my question is fairly simple: I installed w7 build 7600, is that Build the final version? When I open Everest and look at the info on my OS it still says "Trial". Does this mean it will shut down at some point or is it indeed the final retail version. I was led to believe it was the final...

I currently have the RC installed, but prior to this installation I had the public beta installed. Before installing the RC I performed a complete wipe followed by a clean install. A couple weeks ago I started receiving expiration notifications. I am now being affected by the bi-hourly...

Hey all,
As I look through the boards I'm noticing alot (too many) of new threads that ultimately are all talking about the exact same things.. These things include: RTM release date, GA release date, RC Expiration, etc..
I just wanted to take a minute and try to sort some of these things...

Ok.. So I play F.E.A.R. from time to time online.. My issue is that although install is sweet, it starts up and runs fine for about 1-2 minutes. Until it randomly drops my frames to something like 11-12 fps and sticks there. Nothing fixes it. Build 7100. All latest drivers, updates, etc...
So i am downloading Windows 7 Build 7232 x64 from wzor. I noticed that it's 2.34 GB. Im confused as when i got build 7229 in 32-bit it was around the same size. I thought a 64 was bigger. Or is it this size since its a vhd file and not iso.
I am going to use keznew's way to make it a iso.

Hey all,

Hi all
I have a little point of confusion with SIW and Winver for X-64 build 7077.
SIW reports expiry date as 6 June 2010
Winver reports expiration date as Mar 2nd 2010.
Who'se telling the truth and who'se the "Big fibber".
slmgr report as "Permanently activated" so that's no good as a 3rd...
Hi everyone
Just for a test I did an Upgrade from Vista X-64 and then compared with a Clean W7 X-64.install and re-loaded all the applications I'm using on VISTA X-64.
Partition size I'd defined in both cases was 53.71 GB .
Vista X-64 Used 42 GB
Windows 7 X-64 used 17 GB.
Now I...

Just checking. Is 7 like some advanced SP pack added to Vista, or a whole replacement for Vista? I hope not a replacement already, since I am going to be making a tutorial for people at work in the next month or so.
Let me know.
Thanks.
Why we have so many versions?
Vista has Enterprise, Business, Home Basic, Home Premium, and Ultimate.
5 versions x 32bit and 64bit.
