I will be tri-booting Linux (elementaryOS and Debian) and Windows 8 on a laptop for college. On Linux, you can use a seperate partition and mount it to the /home folder.
Is it possible to do this on Windows 8? to mount the partition at C:/Users, to where instead of having a folder there, a data...
Hello everyone, I was trying to use win32diskmanager to put Debian on a single partition of my 2tb external hdd. I formatted one of the partitions, and started win32 to put the linux files on that partition. It crashes at 6%, and now the whole hard drive (other partitions are gone) says it...
I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I have 4 network external drives attached to my router via 2 Cisco NSLU2 servers. The drives connect when I boot the PC but after a while (it seems random) the drives just disconnect. I can click on my computer and bring the drives back one at a time. This is...
I have a PC with 4 hardrives. Three with Linux: Ubuntu, Debian, and for other distros and one that had Windows 7 running on it for 2 1/2 years. It had an on board nvidia 6100 and I upgraded to a nvidia geforce 8400 card, which works well with Debian and the new Ubuntu 12.04. But when I tried to...

Does anyone on here have any experience with getting SAP B1 working in Linux? It requires ZenApp or a similar client. To install this in Linux requires that you first install OpenMotif, a Unix utility. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10. I've found OpenMotif, but haven't had any success in installing it...

Okay...I've seen several tutorials/info on dual booting, but usually it's only one hard drive. What I want to do is install 2 OS on 2 different HDDs.
My first idea was to install Debian and Win7 on the same 500GB HDD (which is now my secondary hard drive). But since then, I had taken it to the...

Clonezilla replaced the Partimage I had been using for years.
It is much more flexible.
The version I originally began using was Clonezilla-live1.2.3-27.
Because most live programs work...

Hi Folks, Cybermoron posted a thread on creating a nifty shutdown button on the Win 7
desktop to make shutdown\restart easier.
I posted that I use a similar method to shutdown\restart my Ubuntu installs using a simple
python script.
He suggested I share that here in the Linux section so here...
