Hello guys,
I have my HDD divided into two portions: C and D drive - both 250gb = 500gb total across the two.
Now when I enter MY COMPUTER it shows C and D drive normally, but there is also another drive visible noted as (Q:) Drive, it has no allocated memory at all, and when you try to...
Dell just installed a new hard drive on my computer and the D: recovery drive is already full. Apparently everything is getting saved onto the D drive instead of the C drive. How do I get the computer to use the C drive as the primary drive???
If you have visited my web page or read my blogs and messages, you'll probably know that I stongly discourage using partitions on a hard drive... mainly because if the partition table gets corrupt you lose EVERYTHING. However, check out this:
Why it may be a GOOD idea to partition a drive...
My drive is partitioned up into 3 sections:
1)STORAGE
2)MINE
3)HERS
Does anyone have the answer as to how I can make it possible to switch between the partitions without having to restart my computer

I formatted my HD in the spring for Windows 7 Beta (No Issues). Three months ago, I formatted again and installed 7RC (again, no issues).
Today however, the following happened:
After the computer rebooted to finish the installation, it rebooted once more (as normal to get into Windows)...
Hello all,
I am new to the forum and searched for an answer to this question but couldn't find a definitive answer so here it is: I have Vista32 on my C: drive and Win764 on my K: drive which was partitioned for Win7. When booted to Win7, I believe Win7 is on C: and Vista is on D...
Hello, I've been moving my docs, my pics, etc changing the location to another drive.... but is there a way to set it to use another drive and not have to move 1 by 1 all the folders?
This way it's much easier to do a clean install destroying drive C each time I have a problem and have all my...

My computer had Vista Ultimate on Drive C, and XP Pro on Drive D (dual boot). I wanted to upgrade to Windows 7, and couldn't upgrade from Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Professional (which is what the Action Pack CD is). I purchased Laplink PcMover Update and ran it on the XP installation then...
I recently received a copy of Windows 7 and by not paying attention, I installed it on the wrong Drive (D:\ instead of C:\).
I have little knowledge in computers, but I believe I know the basics. I attempted to just transfer the files from the D Drive to C Drive, but it didn't work. My Plan...
I have never had one of these "reserved partitions, because I have always formatted first.
For those of you who haven't here's how to take care of it.

I created two partitions when installing Win7 RTM, a 65gb C drive for the OS and a ~800gb D drive for my applications. I didn't think about my User directory while doing this and where I'd store all of my music, pictures, and so forth. I like keeping everything in the User directory as it's...
I installed W7 but needed to get rid of it (I did the 32-bit and I'm going to get 4 more GB to bump to 8GB of RAM soon so need the 64-bit) but I am stuck with the W7 boot menu and I can't get XP's back!
I have a 500GB drive that I had 320 to XP and 50GB then the rest (about 75GB) unallocated.

I'm a sadistic French student, so I'm attempting to dual boot Win7-French with Win7-English. Here are my speedbumps so far:
The default boot menu just lists the operating system name, since both are called Windows 7, it's unclear. How can I rename the menu options to clarify?
I would like...

The links on the right side of the start menu that point to music, pictures, etc... Is there any way to change them? My music is on a second drive, and I want that section to include my download folder. I can figure out how to remove things from being displayed there, but not to add new things.
Moving Pagefile
I put Windows 7 64 bit on a SSD drive with the intention of moving my swapfile to my conventional D Drive. Seems that I no longer have that option. No drives show up in the drive box so I assume that it's either the C drive or nothing. Am I Correct? Thanks. Leon
Guys.... Sorry...
Guys, I would like to uninstall W7.
I installed my W7 on Drive E in XP machine (drive C).
For your info,
Everytime I boot my computer, there are two choices of OS:, XP and W7.
Unfortunately, in BOOT.INI in XP, there is no such a choice of W7 startup that I can delete.
Any help will be...
