Emotet is a sophisticated, modular Trojan that primarily functions as a downloader or dropper of other malware, including banking Trojans. It resurged in July 2020 after a dormant period and has been among the most costly and destructive malware affecting state, local, tribal, and territorial governments as well as the private and public sectors.
