equalization

About this tag
Discussions about sound equalization on Windows focus on managing volume spikes, such as loud commercials or sudden shouts in videos. Users seek ways to normalize audio output to avoid jarring changes, often turning to Windows built-in Loudness Equalization or third-party tools like Soundlock. Some find these insufficient and desire stronger, smarter muting. Others look to boost overall volume on low-powered devices like netbooks, using equalization alongside media player settings. Speaker balance issues, where one channel is quieter, also arise, sometimes linked to driver updates. These threads explore practical solutions for consistent, comfortable listening across different content and hardware.

    Windows 7 Speaker Balance problem

Since running Windows 7 i can no longer get equal sterio sound out of my speakers. One seems to work fine, but the other is low - this never happened on XP so i doubt it's the speaker itself. I have also updated to the latest AC 97 drivers from the Realtek website. Anyone help? Thanks
