I am glad to see this thread. I must be one of the only 3 people in the world that are still using Windows 2000. Windows 7 And the Winner is ....
Hi guys After testing different Windows OS'es -- I still have to say that Windows XP PRO 64 Bit edition with SP2 stiill rules the roost in speed etc by quite a large margin. Using asus P5QL -CM Mobo with 8GB RAM and Intel Quad Q9400 2.66 GHZ. Using built in video driver (Intel G45 / G43...- jimbo45

Windows 7 Homegroup/workgroup solved....for me at least
I have networked with full shares with all 5 pcs. This whole homegroup/workgroup mess is solved for me.What I was attempting to do is network all 5 pcs with administrative shares, but like many others, I was having issues with the 7 seeing and accessing the XP boxes.
