About this tag
The Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) is a suite of tools available to Microsoft Software Assurance customers. On WindowsForum.com, discussions cover MDOP components such as User Experience Virtualization (UE-V) for synchronizing settings across applications like Microsoft Office, and Diagnostics and Recovery Tools (DaRT) for creating bootable recovery partitions or media. Other topics include Application Virtualization (App-V), Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (Med-V), and the Problem Steps Recorder. These tools are frequently mentioned in the context of enterprise Windows 7 upgrades from XP, where they assist with application compatibility, end-user support, and system recovery. MDOP is a key resource for IT professionals managing large-scale Windows deployments.
