microsoft kinect

The microsoft kinect tag on WindowsForum.com collects discussion that examines the motion-sensing camera beyond gaming, including a thread separating viral claims from published research about Kinect hardware appearing in medical imaging work. That discussion looks at whether CT scanners actually use the Xbox Kinect's infrared camera to map patients in 3D, noting that the Kinect did appear in CT research, including at least one study that wired it to a scanner, while scanner makers' own 3D camera studies describe manufacturer hardware instead. The coverage stays cautious about what the evidence supports and what it leaves out.
