I have tried every conceivable way to get Explorer to let me view my empty drives under Computer. They show when there's a disk in them. They show in the reading pane, they just won't show up as empty drives in the Nav pane. I have tried deleting the upper and lower filters in the registry...
One of the most weird bug I've ever seen. Most of the times (not all the times) when I maximize the "Windows Photo Viewer" window the child window at the bottom (named "Navigation Pane") where lies the control buttons doesn't repaint itself. But the pinnacle of weirdness is, while I monitor ANY...
With the release of the Microsoft® Office 2010 beta many people have been looking forward to the new changes and enhancements. Although it is too early to tell what Microsoft has planned for the final release of Office, a preview of the beta gives us a hint. The most noticeable changes made...

I recently transferred files from my old WinXP computer to a new Windows 7 machine using Windows Easy Transfer.
My Outlook personal folders transferred nicely from Outlook 2003 on the old machine to Outlook 2007 on the new one, and were correctly setup.
However my address book appears to have...

As the title states Explorer is bogged down when the folders have a large number of items in them (over 500). I have searched multiple places and this topic is brought up regularly but too few solutions. The only bit of information I have is that when I view the same folder from the Computer...
Just migrated from XP to 7 and the first huge disappointment is the missing 'Remeber each folder's view settings' option.
7 just doesn't remember any window view/size/position settings appart from the last one used. One example... I like to have a folder with shortcuts on my desktop where I...
Dear Board,
QUESTION1
I just spent way too much time trying to figure this out. I am looking for a lost email which I expect was archived in my Outlook 2007. I looked up "archive" in the Outlook help and it said:

My favorites bar in the navigation pane has no locations to choose from and will not allow me to add any files. When I try to add current location nothing happens; when I try to restore defaults nothing happens.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I have been able to do this on my 2 other WIn 7 machines, but on this machine, when I right click libraries to "Do not show in navigation pane" the option is not there. When I go to the folders Properties, the option to Shown in Navigation Pane is grayed out and checked. I am an Administrator...
The games menu item is not as flexible as the Pictures, Music and Documents menu items. It seems to be more hardcoded into the system. A few things I noticed:
-Right-clicking on Games in the windows menu doesn't show the same options as the Documents, Pictures, and Music menu items. For example...

I can see I am already disagreeing with a couple of the views, unfortunately that includes Paul Thurrot.. When I read his blog, I almost felt that I had been given a different release.
If you want to do it for the experiment, then good luck. You will get nothing out of M3 that you cannot get in...
