The drive F of my sister's PC has been automatically filling up for some time and now out of the 76 gb only 6.5 mb remains. There is nothing in the drive except somethings called WindowsImageBackup and USER-PC. Why is this happening? Is it a virus problem?

I got out my soundcard and wifi-card and now the pc works again. Though i like to know the culprit.
I managed to download and run all of the programs, the Windows 7 tool, RAMmon, and the CPUZ tool. I've got all of the relevant screenshots and files in a zip file. Incidentially, for some...
Hi, I've been having nightmare with PC boot times ( up to 1 hour long) and extremely limited usage after boot, due to 100% disk activity.
I have tried everything possible with windows itself, so today tried to test HDD with HDDtune Pro.
Question,
#1 - Are these low read speeds?
#2 - If so...

Hi All, My PC was running great but when I started it from overnight sleep, which woke at the normal speed, I as always did a manual update to Avast definitions. It did the download as quick as always, but then during the "saving package" it hung. I left it like that for some minutes, and then...
I am about to install a new hard drive because this one is about to crash. I have a 'Recovery' file on the existing drive that includes everything this PC came with.
How do I re-install the factory software onto my new hard drive so I don't have to purchase Windows 7?
I had an all-in-one liquid cpu cooler leak coolant all over my PC last week, luckily it shut down from overheating when there was no coolant left in the loop. I disassembled my PC, cleaned everything with alcohol and let it dry. Then i bought an air cooler and installed it. After installing the...
I just changed out my MB and now have a MSI- B75MA-P45 board. Since doing that I have trouble
the first time I go to start up in the morning. When I turn my computer on my monitor is just a blackscreen. If I manually shut down and then restart everything works. During the day you can shutdown...
I unwittingly purchased a dodgy copy of Windows Ultimate a few months back - Microsoft just informed me a week ago. So I have now purchased a good copy of W7 Pro thinking I could just replace one with the other but on researching this, it doesn't appear to be the case. I have backed up all my...

My wife's computer has an issue that just started a week ago that's driving me nuts. The PC has been running Windows 7 Home Edition (64 bit) for over a year. She sat down to use her computer and tried to open IE (IE9). When she clicked on it, a window popped up that says "Internet explorer has...

Hi all
I'm trying to help out some friends of mine who're not overly PC savvy & who've run into a problem that I'm equally at a loss to help them with.
I appreciate, before I ask, that it may be equally tough for anyone here to know how to track down the problem, but hope that perhaps the info...

Hello,
My daughter's PC, Windows 7 32 bit, all of a sudden started running chkdsk everytime it is booted up. How do we stop this behavior? Her antivirus is up to date and very efficient so we don't know what the computer is checking for.
Please advise as it is driving her crazy.
Thanks,
pvanc

Many of us, who like to futz around with our PC's, not just appliance operators, like to get into our Control Panels every once in a while.
But Win-8 doesn't make that as easy as it was in XP.
However there is a way to get to the control panel in Win-8.
Here's one way:
