pixel aspect
About this tag
The pixel aspect tag covers discussions about display differences between monitors and TVs, particularly when both have the same pixel dimensions but different pixel aspect ratios. Users report issues like stretching or squarish formats when extending or duplicating displays across a 1080i HDTV and a monitor, both at 1920x1080 resolution. The TV may use a non-square pixel aspect ratio (e.g., 1.333) while the monitor uses square pixels, causing scaling problems. Topics include resolution changes when duplicating displays and maintaining correct aspect ratios across multiple displays.
Hi
I was wondering whether anyone could tell me why this happens?
I have a 1080i HD TV set, with a resolution of 1920 by 1080, and a 27" monitor with the same resolution.
I do see that inspite of the fact that both are the same pixel dimensions they are not the same aspect ratio.
I'm aware...
