They are many weeks I've been struggling with sharing issue on my network and as it is said "a picture is worth a thousand words" so here what is happening and what I don't understand.
Does someone have a clue ?
Of course, files & folders sharing is set, all on the same workgroup, network...
When I setup a connection (LAN or WLAN) I have to define if this connection should be part of a "public" or "private" network.
This network type is only important for accesses and issues INSIDE the current (LAN) network segment until the next router.
It is NOT relevant for accesses from outside...

I am trying to find the least costly, most private way of receiving TV, PC, and phone.

I just installed Chrome and under advanced settings it says it is using my computer's proxy setting to connect to the internet. I have a gateway and a private network.

I thought I had private vs. public figured out by changing the slider at "network" from public to private.
