I've just noticed on the back of my Home Premium box that it says both 32 and 64bit are included. Does that mean I can pick either when I install?
Also, my UK student version is Pro 32bit. If I decide to go 64 in the future, is this possible and will it cost to 'side-grade'?
I had the RC running since it came out and everything worked perfectly. Now that I installed the offical Professional version I can not get Windows 7 to detect my Nvidia 8600M GT graphics card. When I bring up dxdiag it says Standard VGA Graphics Adapter, it does detect that it is a NVIDIA but...
I want to get a clean install and reformat my hard drive. I guess when you load w7 from your desktop you do not have the option of reformatting. If you want to reformat I herd you have to boot from the cd. But I bought w7 through a download.
I downloaded the pro 64 bit version. How do I make my...
Since I can not "Upgrade" from XP Pro, will the XP to Vista version restrictions still apply?
When I went to ug to Vista I was told that I could not "upgrade" to a Home versions from a XP Pro version. Something to do with the media parts of Vista not existing in XP Pro. It was a real pain to...
Windows 7 Upgrade Pro version spotted at Walmart (Waukegan, IL) tonight (OCT 18, 2009 @ 22:30).
However, it was not obviously on the right shelve and had no price but there was total of 3 retail boxes wrapped up in retail spider web. To see pictures see...
Hi, I've had Windows Vista for a little over a year and I have been completely discontent with it. It's gotten so bad to the point that now everytime I start up, I get a bunch of random corrupt file messages, drivers that need to be reinstalled, etc. Also, over the course of time, a bunch of my...

With Windows 7 due out later this month, many of you are no doubt counting the days until release. I've played with both the beta and RC of Microsoft's latest OS, and quite honestly, I liked what I saw. If this had come out in 2006 when 'Longhorn' was promised, I have no doubt that I would not...

SO, no, I don't have 2 versions of windows 7 installed in a dual boot, but here's the back story on why it appears that way.
I had vista 32 bit home premium installed, and decide to dual boot into the Windows 7 RC. That all went well, i created a new partition and installed windows 7 home...
Hi,
Sorry if this has been covered before, my searches didn't turn up much yet. I have Vista Home Premium x64 on my notebook, and have pre-ordered the Windows 7 Pro upgrade. My question is whether or not anyone knows if the upgrade will include x64 version disks, and if I will be able to...
I thought some of you may be interested in these themes and wallpapers for Windows 7. Its really nothing special or fancy but I certainly didn't mind downloading it. As far as the wallpapers go its just the respective color and box art for Home, Pro, and Ultimate. The Ultimate theme is kind of...
Microsoft.
I have enjoyed using the Windows 7 RC.
I was emailed an offer to upgrade to Windows 7.
The email says the discount price because I have been testing the release candidate, is $99 for Pro.
When I click on the link the price says $199.
What is up with the bait and switch tactic...

Microsoft promised that by purchasing the pricey Ultimate edition of Vista users would get all kinds of extras.
However, for many, those extras turned out to be little more than a few screensavers and a poker game prompting some significant grousing.
