Me Again !
New machine with Windows 7 Pro.
Wanted to use Task Manager to halt a programme.
Task Manager comes up in the Processes page, no header, no tabs, no way out other than closing the thing with the Taskbar context popup.
Can I somehow correct this, or should I seek a...
Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone could explain something weird I found today. I went to my recycle bin and found some files in there that while I have no idea what they are for, I have a feeling they are not supposed to be there. I'm using windows 10 64 bit btw. These are the files in there...
For some odd reason, when I boot up my computer, all programs will be slow (for example, video games might have low framerate or typing into the internet bar is delayed) until I restart the computer. Then it's fine until the next day.
Programs I recently installed include AutoCAD, but I tried...

Hi,
I'm kind of curious as to what Windows decides to list in the Processes list and the Details list. I'm confused as to why there are far more listed executable files in the Details tab than in the processes tab. Is this because Details lists everything with and without a UI?
Thanks.
Hi guys.
I was trying to free up RAM so I could play a game so I was ending unnecessary processes, and after I ended what I think was something about Cortana Search the screen went black. It might have been Mozilla Firefox, though. However, notifications still pop up and programs still run and...

Back when I was young and foolish and installing Windows 7 I didn't understand the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit and just went with 32-bit and now I'm paying the price for my ignorance. I'd like to correct my past mistakes and upgrade to Windows 10 at the same time, but the process for...

Every time my computer goes idle (i think this is the source), my computer slows way down, very slow to respond and come out of idle. All programs slow to open. I looked at my physical memory use and found that svchost.exe is using 1G of my physical memory and 4G reserved for it. After a...
On a vanilla Gateway PC with 6GB RAM (50%), 500GB available disk space, the HD has started showing a very periodic 100% write usage (~12 sec on, 1 sec off). The Read usage is quite normal. This makes the system extremely slow. Resource Monitor reports many processes with PID 4, but none seem...

My friend is getting a second ssd with higher capacity and I'd like to install windows 10 on it (he's on win7)
If I recall correctly the install process automatically installs on the same drive and doesn't ask you which drive you want to install on.
So is my only option to install win10 on a...
