I'm using Windows 11 Pro (23H2), and recently I've noticed that File Explorer crashes or becomes unresponsive when I open folders that contain a large number of files (especially media files like images and videos). Sometimes it takes several seconds to load, and other times it just freezes...

If you’ve found yourself staring at a sluggish Details list in Windows 11’s File Explorer, waiting impatiently for file information to populate or wincing at jerky scrolling, you’re not alone. This nagging performance issue has tracked Windows 11 since its debut—persisting stubbornly across...
By default, every time you tap that familiar yellow File Explorer icon in Windows, you’re greeted by the “Home” folder—a digital mix of your most recent files and frequently visited folders. It’s as if a virtual butler rummaged through your desk and laid out your latest projects, “just in case...

Must be a bug or something; meaning that Windows 11 is still crap.
Don’t know if this is the right forum to post on.
My work uses Windows 11. They wanted to move from cloud storage to local storage. I successfully got rid of OneDrive and moved all the libraries to their local directories...
For some reason, the Quick Access list of folders in File Explorer recently included an elastic list of folders from my Music library. If I remove one, it adds the next one in the alphabet. How do I remove all these Music folders from Explorer?
Does anyone know how Windows chooses which recent folders to display in the File Explorer's Quick Access menu? My software continuously displays slightly older folders, not the most recent ones. It randomly will add a new one however.
I've tried opening folder several times in a row and it...
The latest feature update has just been installed and it has messed up my desktop; I have got things back to normal except for the Explorer icon on the taskbar. Previously I had set it - many years ago - to open with Documents/Documents, but now it opens with the Quick Access screen instead, and...
I'm running Windows10 Home, v.21H2, with all updates. As of yesterday Quick Access in File Manager has lost its grouping of folders and files. I've made no intentional changes and nothing I've read on the web has brought them back. Can anyone help? Thanks.
The quick access folder is a great idea ... to a point ...
Just because I am working in or, on a folder doesn't mean I will need to open it again. I am moving music files around and will most likely delete said folder anyway.
This isn't happening all the time but, if I have a folder open for...
In the past, on some of our client machines (Win 10 Pro, latest version), had their user account document folder relocated to the H: location in the home folder for their server side account. We now have changed that model, so that all document folders shall remain local on the local machines...

I have a fresh install of Win10Pro. However, when I look at File Explorer, there is no Quick Access Link for "Downloads" and there is also no "Downloads entry under the "This PC" section. The "This PC" entry will not allow me to add a new Folder either as it redirects to network.
When I use...

Hi, no matter what I put the files in "Large Icons" status, they go back to "Details" status after some time on their own.
I want them to stay as "Large Icons" permanently.
That only happens when I access my hard drives through Quick Access Toolbar.
My windows version is 1809.
Quick access contains the folders: Documents, Music, Pictures, Video
On the right side of the window, there is a Quick access search field. Entering a search will find matching files in 3 folders but not matching files in the Pictures folder.
If I navigate directly to the Pictures folder then...
I just installed an update for my computer and have this issue where there are extra quick selection links in my file explorer and they are blank. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix this? I have scanned my computer for any viruses and it is clean. I am running 64 bit windows...
I really didn't expect this.
I had a 3tb drive that was partitioned into two smaller drives. I decided to dump both and bring the drive back into a full drive, obviously losing one drive letter.
The problem now, is I neglected to delete all the quick access shortcuts. I use these quite a bit...
