reboot hang
About this tag
The reboot hang tag covers issues where a Windows system becomes unresponsive during the restart phase of an installation or update. In the provided content, a user reports that Windows 7 setup hangs at the Windows logo after the second reboot, preventing completion of the installation. This problem persists across multiple installation attempts and different disk releases, but the same disks work on other PCs, indicating a hardware-specific or configuration-related cause. Troubleshooting steps mentioned include disconnecting non-essential peripherals and drives. The tag is relevant for users experiencing similar freezes during Windows setup or updates, often requiring investigation of drivers, BIOS settings, or hardware compatibility.
