We are going to build DHCP server based on Window:
number of scope reaches to 40
Number of clients reach to 700000 to 800000
Fail over setup --redundancy with second server
What are HW requirements recommendation for server ? or other recommendation from your side?
Hi all,
When I was made redundant from my previous company they let me keep my laptop but did not remove the company admin rights before I left.
I have spoken to them and they said they cannot help and I will need to sort this out myself.
Does anyone know how to remove admin rights for free...
Best way I know is to make regular backups but store them offline . Got to check your PC is not carrying any malware before backing up for obvious reasons . I am a home user so use a portable SSD . I do not own a NAS . In retrospect I am rather glad I do not need one
NAS are said to...
Hi there,
I'm setting up an HPE Proliant Microserver Gen10 for a simple small office file share and host a Filemaker Database. There is 4 HD slots and I have 4 x 1TB drives. I can setup all four in a RAID 10 array which gives performance and redundancy but only gives me 1 volume. Should I be...

Hi I've been given a laptop from my previous employer as part of the redundancy. However I don't have admin user rights and want to clone the hard drive. Also need admin to change software going forward. The laptop had the companies domain settings and when I've tried to use guides online the...
Hi folks. Been Googling quite a bit and cannot find the practical differences between using two external USB drives as RAID 1 OR as a mirrored Storage Space. Can anyone tell me which is preferred and why?
Thanks!

Hi
running windows 7 backup, and constantly failing, because it's trying to create an image of the Recovery drive, I don't need the recovery drive backed up, and windows backup does not give me an option to deselect.
anyway to do this thru the registry?
if their is no way to deselect the...
Hardware based RAID setups are usually able to get double the read speed during a RAID 1 array (or triple or whatever depending on the number of hard drives in the RAID). Windows 7's disk manager has RAID drivers built into it allowing you to setup RAID 0/1/5/10 without the need of BIOS tweaks...
I setup a redundancy using windows 7 for the time being until I can afford a decent RAID card. My question is whether or not I will have near double read speed by using it. I know that since only some software RAID has this ability, I bet I don't... but I have no idea how to tell.
For...
