Hello!
I recently recieved a hand-me-down laptop from my Uncle after it was restored to factory settings. Basically I have a 270gb main HDD, and a 400gb HDD. The second HDD is (presumably) used for restoration, and I'd like to use it for games and movies. This is what is currently on the drive...
My daughter sends lots of JPEG pictures from her iPhone via email. These pictures are in zip folders. Problem is that all pictures have the same file name, usually "image". These same names make normal extraction on my Win 8 laptop impossible except as a laborious, manual process. Is there...
Microsoft recently lost a lawsuit brought against them by Sky, a Robert Maxwell company based in the UK. So Skydrive has been renamed to Onedrive. If you already have a Skydrive account it will just automatically change over and you don't need to do anything. The new website can be found here...

When I open (under 64bit Win7) the
Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center
then I have currently 3 Networks listed:
Network 3
Network 2
Unidentified Network
How excatly can I rename these network names e.g. to "myNetwork123"?
Is it possible at all?
Peter
Hi.
I created a subfolder I can't get rid of. I can't delete it, I can't move it, I can't rename it. I keep getting a message saying 'Item Not Found' and telling me the folder I can plainly see is no longer 'located' where I see it is. It says I should verify location and try again and I can't...
I somehow managed to rename the libraries as well as the 'Favorites' about half a year ago.
I don't recall how, but remember that it took a lot of trial and error. It worked perfectly and consistently in the start menu and the window manager. Now, with the latest update (13 important) it all...

Script to remove "- shortcut" from all shortcuts on computer

I finally got around to turning off the "- shortcut" that is appended to the shortcut name by editing the registry on a friends computer. He has way to many shortcuts in my opinion.

My problem is that when I copied over fonts to the windows fonts and told it to replace the current font it didn't do what I wanted. For example I copied over a font with the name HS.ttf, and when I now look at the corresponding font it is called HS_1.ttf. I have a certain program that looks...

Hi all,
I just got a brand new computer. It was a gift from my parents. Since my parents know pretty much next to nothing about computers, they got my brother to order it for me.
It seems that when the computer arrived he took it out of the box and named the computer and the user file after...

An update released today (25-10-2011) may cause issues after being installed when you try to rename or move files/folders.
There was another update in April 2010(?), KB980408, that caused the same issues for many people running Windows 7 64bit.
So if you find yourself in this position, you...
Since 2 days, in a certain folder, I cant rename, move or delete folders or files. Now, it has spread to my desktop as well. If I rename a folder, even a new folder, the name changes ''magically'' within seconds to restore to its previous name. If I move the folder or file, it comes back and...
