Dell are going to replace my laptop on which I have installed a full retail version of Windows 7. Is there anything I need to do on the old machine to make sure I can install and activate the operating system on the new machine?
The replacement will actually be 'exactly the same' model...
About three days ago my Windows 7 told me I need to consider replacing my laptops battery. "There is a problem with your battery, so your computer might shut down suddenly". I did the energy report thing and it said my battery's full charge was 37%.
The weird thing is, overnight my laptop...
What now....I bought windows 7 family pack and my hard drive crashed on my apple cumputers virtual drive. The HD is being replaced. Do I need to contact microsoft for a different product Key? What do I need to do? :frown:

I purchased the windows 7 pro 64 bit OEM version ,installed it and everything is fine.
I then misplaced the win 7 disk or it has found legs and left ,i also thought i would be smart and stick the purchase receipt in the Cd case,so this to is gone.
I did though, remove the license and stuck it...
Tried the 32bit disc and it went right to setup for install but the 64bit disc just grinds away in the drive.
I tried a few other discs and they work fine, how do I get a replacement for this thing? Or is there a work-around for this?
Running 64bit vista currently with no problems.

I have a 4 Months old laptop with Vista Home Permium. After 100% charged, After 1 or todays if working in AC Power, Battery Meter shows 98%, plugged in not charging. Even replaced the battery with a new one. Still the same problem. Any solution?
